Iranian Studies at Georgia Tech provides an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary platform for the study of modern Iranian arts, history, culture, and society. The Program also serves as a forum for scholars and artists in Greater Atlanta and beyond to teach, collaborate, and study Iran.
Iran as a civilization is one of the oldest in the world. Modern Iran has been a pivotal force in shaping the crucial region of the Middle East. It is increasingly important for scholars, policy analysts, and decision-makers in every field to understand the intricacies of modern Iranian society.
Established in 2019, by Dr. Ayda Melika, the Iranian Studies at Georgia Tech is part of the Ivan Allen College of Arts and supported by the Atlanta Global Studies Center.
